In just over 50 lots we are pleased to offer a select group of US stamps of exceptional quality or rarity including many from the classic period. Each was chosen by the primary consignor using the StampAuctionNetwork provenance and census system to find stamps and covers at the top tier of the census.

Of note are a magnificent used jumbo example of #87E, one of the finest 2-cent 1869 re-issue used ranked as #4 out 124 examples offered in the last 20+ years, the finest known #134 unused, a gorgeous used #155 graded ‘95’, $2 Trans-Mississippi mint ranking #11 out 772 stamps offered in the past 20+ years, 2c Pan-American plate single NH graded ‘100J’, 5c Jamestown mint graded ‘95J’ ranking the 11th best, a stunning 1909 13-cent bluish paper used, back-of-the-book condition rarities in addition nine lots which have recently received graded certificates and are offered as such for the first time to the market.

The provenance and census data is a great tool to be used for comparing individual stamps from the same issue and keeping track of value trends for particular stamps and issues. The data is compiled using image recognition technology. Even though this is a relatively new technology that only will improve over time, it is remarkably specific in recognizing individual stamps.
