This sale features French Offices Abroad incl. e.g China, Egypt and Levant as well as French Colonies General Issues. French North Africa includes Algeria, French Morocco and Tunisia. The Middle East with e.g. Grand Liban and Syria. French Africa with Nossi Be, Madagascar, Diego Suarez, Benin, Ivory Coast, Somali Coast and Obock. French Asia incl. Indo-China and French India.

Some of the key issues in this sales include Gabon #4 & #8 both mint and signed Scheller, Gabon #10 used signed Scheller, Benin #18 mint signed Brun & Scheller, from Ivory Coast the rare #Q3 & #Q4 mint, both signed Scheller, Somali Coast #5 mint signed by both Brun & Scheller, Mongtseu #32a mint, inverted Chinese characters, signed Scheller, Ile Rouad first set mint, signed Scheller and a number of other issues rarely seen on the market.

Virtually all better stamps in the sale have expert markings or old French dealer markings on the back. Any stamp signed by Pascal Scheller, Paris have been directly submitted by us. If the buyer wishes to obtain a certificate for any of these stamps, or any other stamp in the sale, we are able to obtain these at cost from Mr. Scheller.

Throughout the sale we have used the Scott catalogs as well as the Maury catalogs. Maury in most cases provides more detailed listing than any other current catalog for French Colonies. It is our understanding that the current publisher of the five volumes of French Colonies Maury catalogs has no plans to publish any updated versions currently. We have been able to acquire a small stock of the last available catalogs, which we plan to offer for sale on our website in the near future, in addition to the annually published Maury France catalog.
